Field Trip Frenzy!

Jude had his first field trip to Simmons farm for school the other day and it was so much fun! The weather was amazing there was a little breeze but the sun was shining and all the kids were in a great mood. I was not originally going to go but when I got there to drop Jude off all the moms and teachers convinced me to go and I am glad they did. We took a hay ride down to the pumpkin patch were the kids got to pick a pumpkin and find Indian corn, there was also a potato sack slide and hay mazes and all kinds of fun stuff. After we did all the fun stuff we took a hay ride back and had an apple snack and headed home! It was such a nice day!!

Zoo Boo

It's that time of year again for Zoo Boo! It is one of our traditions that we started with Jude! It is a really nice day the kids dress up - except this year it was too cold, and they trick or treat around the zoo! It is so fun all the animals get pumpkins for treats and they are more active than in the summer. Jude is not that interested in the trick or treat but the animals! His favorites this year were the jelly fish and the bats! He also liked the story time with a local news anchor and the haunted house! He had such a great time and it was fun for G-ma and me too! Also I have to note that the zoo did a great job this year the treats - fresh pears from radio Disney and tooth brushes from UPMC and lots of pencils! I would rather Jude get healthy snacks than candy! There were vendors that had candy but for the most part they tried to be healthier!

Wedding Time!

Congrats Emily and Ryan!!

This weekend has already been full of wedding fun! Wednesday I went to a pre wedding get together and then the actual wedding on Friday! It was a very nice day and everyone looked beautiful!! My friend Emily is so lucky to have Ryan who loves her so much!! I enjoyed watching him look at her and see the love he has for her all over his face! What a nice day!

Candy Apple Time!

Jude and I had one of those days!! You know the days where everything goes wrong!! So to beat the blues we went to visit Gramps and have lunch at our reserved table in the dining area--Gramps called and reserved it for us!! Then we went to the farmers market and Jude had his first Candy Apple!! It was an experience! He was a huge mess - but he loved it! The off to the park and ice cream, all in all a great way to end a crappy day!

End Of Summer Fun!!

We headed to Ocean City MD for a last of the season blowout and had a great time!! The whole trip was perfect from start to finish and we all came back rested and relaxed!! Jude was so awesome in the car for six hours, I was amazed!! When we got there we had lunch - we had a room with a full kitchen so with Jude's allergy's we could do breakfast and lunch in! We then headed to the boardwalk just to look around and of course our water baby ran into the ocean clothes on- and me not being prepared had no extra clothes!! We ended up wrapping him in my pink sweater and taking him back to the hotel!! We then went out and hit the boardwalk again and just relaxed with some hot coco's and felt the ocean breeze! The next day we found this donut shop called the Fractured Prune, where you pick what you want and they make it hot and fresh -- AMAZING! We decided to let Jude have a donut - but he didn't even eat it! Then to the beach for some fun! We rented a bike car and the funniest thing was that my feet didn't even touch the pedals! Then the hotel pool and to an AMAZING dinner at the Shark restaurant! They are all organic and fresh from the area and the food was just amazing -we went back for lunch the next day! The we headed home back home to reality!!

Football Season!!

Football season is here again!! We went downtown to the season opener concert held by the NFL, to honor the hometown Super bowl team! Kevin, Jude and a friend from my work went and we had a blast. The Black Eyed Peas and Tim McGraw were there along with a lot of past players! Jude was dancing to the Peas and clapping - it was so cute! The best part is that The Steelers won the opener and scored the first points of the season!!! GO STILLERSSSSSSSS!!!!

Back To School!

Jude had his first day of Preschool on Wednesday! He is in a new classroom and has a new teacher! Jude also has a class pet named George in his classroom- they are allowed to feed him pumpkin seeds, so I am sure if Jude's around George will be gaining a little bit of weight this year! Jude's friend from last year is in his class, but I found out at coffee with his mom that they are moving in a month to Detroit! I am super bummed because Jude and I like their family so much! We will miss them! I hope this year is as good as last and that he will grow and learn and be the smartest 3 year old around!

WOW!

I don't really know what to say about this weekend! Kevin met his half sisters for the first time and his mom for the second time in 13 years! Kevin did not have a great childhood - putting that lightly- and for him this was a major moment! He did not know about his sisters until about 3 years ago and had talked on the phone to them a few times after that. Kevin's grandfather wanted to get them all together and no one can say no to Papa, so they met. Kevin had a great time with his sister's - his mom a little bit- but this whole thing brought up a lot of emotions that will take some time to get over. Please keep Kevin in your thoughts for the next couple weeks, and hope that this time will be better than the last time she came back.

Idlewild Here We Come!!

We all headed to Idlewild for a day of fun in the sun! We all had such a great time going on the rides and watching Jude have a blast. We spent most of the day in the soak zone, where there are mini water slides for the kids and Jude was in heaven with all the water. We went on Mr. Rogers trolley and Jude played some carnival games! He won a few prizes and had cotton candy and all kinds of junk food he never gets at home! We had such a great day!

Gramps Update 2

My dad is still in Agh and dealing with the infection in his foot. They were giving him blood yesterday because he is very badly anemic. He will hopefully soon be going to a nursing type facility for 3 weeks to recover fully. We took Jude down to see him - which I normally don't do but it seemed like he needed some cheering up! Jude was talking to him and telling him all about the big city outside his window! He also got up on Gramp's bed and was tickling him and goofing around. I know it made my dad feel better to see him. Hopefully he will get to go to the "home" soon so we can visit him more often!
