Idlewild Here We Come!!

We all headed to Idlewild for a day of fun in the sun! We all had such a great time going on the rides and watching Jude have a blast. We spent most of the day in the soak zone, where there are mini water slides for the kids and Jude was in heaven with all the water. We went on Mr. Rogers trolley and Jude played some carnival games! He won a few prizes and had cotton candy and all kinds of junk food he never gets at home! We had such a great day!

Gramps Update 2

My dad is still in Agh and dealing with the infection in his foot. They were giving him blood yesterday because he is very badly anemic. He will hopefully soon be going to a nursing type facility for 3 weeks to recover fully. We took Jude down to see him - which I normally don't do but it seemed like he needed some cheering up! Jude was talking to him and telling him all about the big city outside his window! He also got up on Gramp's bed and was tickling him and goofing around. I know it made my dad feel better to see him. Hopefully he will get to go to the "home" soon so we can visit him more often!

Emily's Bridal Shower!

What a great way to spend a Saturday, but at a bridal brunch! My friend from High School who is our hairdresser - if you are looking for one- is getting married and the shower was this weekend. I have not been feeling so well the last few days, but I sucked it up and went. I am so glad I did I had a great time and Mer who is the maid of honor was there and We love to get together. After the party we went to the hospital to see my day - she is still there I will post tomorrow about that. I went home and Mer and I headed to Mitchell's Fish market where another one of our friends is a bartender. We had such a great time catching up and when Heather was done working we went out to Mt. Lebo for a great night out with the girls. There is no better way to get over not feeling well than going out and laughing for 8 hours straight! Next time Philly!!

Gramps and Nonno Update

As you have read in my blog Tuesday, my dad went to the hospital. It was the same night as the LA Fitness shootings so my mom went the other direction to the hospital and then they transferred him downtown. He had a really bad infection in his foot, which I will spare you all the disgusting details, but he was operated on yesterday. He is OK and he still has most of his foot, they did not have to remove any bone. The plastic surgeon will be in to see if he will have to go and do any reconstruction. While he is in the hospital, the cardiologist wants to do some routine tests while they have him there, he was supposed to have a defibrillator put in later this year - his heart is only pumping at a about 30%, and an irregular heartbeat at some times. He will be at AGH until at least Monday. Anyone who would like the number let me know. Kevin's Nonno was also in the hospital at the same time but at St. Clair - he was transferred to Kane Recovery and he is there until he regains his strength. He had a UTI but it took the hospital forever to figure it out. They thought he may have had something neurological going on. On a side note- I have been so overwhelmed with the shootings. I'n my line of work with the public everyday - I hear and talk to everyone about everything and the details that I have been learning from ER Nurses to people that were there that night just alarm me! It is a horrible tragedy and never should have happened.

In my thoughts

As many of you have heard there was a very bad shooting in Bridgeville tonight and many people are dead. Everyone involved and family are in my thoughts tonight and I wish them all some peace in the following days. I was right down the road when all this happened at the restaurant I work at, and none of us knew if the gunman was still on the loose. Everyone in the restaurant was talking about it and calling people they knew for information. The phone was ringing off the hook with employee's calling making sure everyone was OK. I am overwhelmed right now by emotion that this all happened 5 minutes down the road from where I live and work and I am so sorry for all the people involved and wish I could do something to help. I wonder what is wrong with people to make them do things like this, and it makes you realize that you have to live every day like it is your last because you never know what is going to happen tomorrow. Also my dad is in the hospital tonight and Kevin's Nonno, I have so much on my mind that I wish things like this never happened. Please keep everyone in your thoughts for the next few weeks.
Peace and good wishes to everyone in my life I love you all!

White Fang Returns!

Well this post goes out to my sister Jennifer -- who when I was younger as I am told - I jumped onto her back and bit her hard enough to draw blood! I do not remember this incident but I have been told many times and do recall them calling me white fang! Well karma payed me back the other day when Jude was at the pool and a little kid 18 months old was playing with him and Jude took one of the toys he was playing with and the little one sunk his teeth into Jude's back!! Jude was yelling Don't Bite me Please! And the parents were there to get him off Jude - but he left some pretty nice teeth marks on his back! So this incident has come full circle and can now be laid to rest! Hopefully he will never get bit again it was scary for all of us!
